Introduction

Welcome to PasteHub. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains what information we collect when you use PasteHub, how we use it, and what choices you have.

PasteHub lets you turn a URL or a text snippet into a 5-character code and retrieve that content later. Codes do not automatically redirect. Anyone who has the code can look up the original content.

The Data We Collect

When you use PasteHub, we collect and process the following:

• The URL or text you submit, the generated 5-character code, the paste type (link or text), and the time it was created
• Your IP address, used only in memory to rate-limit abuse. It is not stored with your pastes and is not written to our database
• A theme preference (light or dark) saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers how you like it to look

We do not create accounts, collect email addresses, or store names, payment details, device fingerprints, or visitor identity alongside your pastes. The same URL or text can be pasted more than once; only the code itself is unique.

How We Use Your Data

We use this data to:

• Provide the sharing and retrieval service
• Generate and look up 5-character codes
• Prevent abuse through short-lived rate limiting
• Remember your theme preference on this device

Analytics and Cookies

PasteHub does not use third-party analytics, advertising pixels, or tracking cookies. We do not record how often a code is opened or who opened it.

Theme preference is stored locally in your browser (pastehub-theme). It stays on your device and is not sent to our servers.

Data Storage

PasteHub uses Supabase as our database to store shared links, text pastes, and their codes. Direct table access is disabled; the app talks to the database only through server-side functions. Your data is stored on Supabase's servers, which maintain industry-standard security practices. You can learn more about Supabase's privacy practices at https://supabase.com/privacy.

Who Can Access Your Pastes

PasteHub does not require an account. Treat codes like unlisted links: anyone who knows the 5-character code, or has a share link that includes it, can retrieve the original URL or text. Do not submit passwords, private keys, or other secrets.

Payments and Accounts

PasteHub does not offer paid plans and does not process payments. We do not collect billing information.

Content Responsibility

PasteHub is not responsible for the contents of shared links or any text uploaded by users. You are solely responsible for ensuring your content complies with applicable laws.
